Thought i’d share this video with all of you. If you didn’t know I am very interested in the military and especially war photography so guys like John Moore and Spencer Platt of Getty Images are defiant idols of mine. I saw Spencer talk at SP last year and he showed us one of his video’s which was just photos with a tape recording over it which I thought was very cool…you can find it on the gettyimages channel on youtube. As well as interviews with both Spencer and John…
On a lighter note…here is another image from last weeks GBR mission..
Had some fun waves out at Cudgen this morning with all the regular locals aswell as Kingy and Jones Russell who are still blocked off from home due to the flooding over the highways. The swell has finally dropped and cleaned up to make it surfable but by the looks of it today, it’s going to drop alot by tomorrow. Wasn’t the best for shooting out there but I acutally ended up getting one of the better shots I have ever had of Simon out there which is pretty sick. The beach at Cudgen has pretty much been completely washed away, the sand dune is around 10 meters high and is a complete mess. The guy riding is Kingy.
Well the 8 hour drive and 6 hour boat ride was well worth it! Over the weekend I saw some of the best waves I have ever seen, well in real life anyway. I can’t and won’t say anything about the location just yet but in time you’ll find out. Here is a sneak peek of the trip.
Right now its 5:35pm on my laptop screen and I have to be on a boat at 2am, only problem is that the boat ramp is around 7 hours away so I think we are going to have an all nighter on our hands…should be very worth the trip though. I will be back on Saturday night hopefully with some amazing photos.
Some good news for any Hubb, Skip or Andre fans out there. I received an email off Jeff the other day letting me know that all three of them are heading over here next week for the month of June. Jeff has organized a sweet house down the South Coast so I’m gonna be heading down to try and score with the fellas. They will also be making an appearance up here on the Gold Coast…just not sure when. In some other news I have added a “published” section so feel free to check it out. Below is pic of Jeff taking off into some perfect looking Teahupoo late last year, I will be adding a heap of shots up from that trip soon…..need to show someone!!.
Got up early this morning to try get some different looking shots that I have seen some other guys (tm!) doing lately. My camera decided it would work today but there was still salt coming out of the cracks in the body so that’s not very promising. Anyway here are a couple from early and some of my dad body surfing just about an hour ago..
The idea for this blog was to flood it with shots that I thought no one would ever really see, so here goes with the first of them…some leftovers from April.
Well well i have finally gotten around to getting this blog online, it’s not completely finished (side bar links needs fixing) but a BIG thanks to Mr Jaymie Jones.
Had some pretty sick waves this morning, however with the good stuff had to come some bad, my camera got flooded while i was out shooting which sucks big time. It’s still turning on but I have to keep it wrapped up for a couple of days so it dosen’t corrode (my murpahys law calender even foresaw it, todays law was the Law of Life’s Highway – “If everything is coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.”) Oh well guess these things come with the job. Here’s a piccy from today.
