Old school Cook Islands

I might aswell say it…if you don’t like looking at old slides you might want to start looking at another blog for the next week ha-ha!…I didn’t have any jobs on today so I pretty much sat here all day just sussing out how to scan different films, I have alot to learn but stoked I can actually do it now. I have uploaded this shot for you guys to have a look at…As you can see the scans aren’t perfect yet but i’ll get there…this particular shot was scanned in at about 5600px @ 300 DPI so it would run at around A3 if needed…below is just a bit of weird self portrait…shot in Hawaii late 2004 on Agfa Scala 200x…man I miss that film….best stuff I ever used for sure!

Must watch

This just came up on the NY Times photo blog. Its a photo essay/sideshow of Joao Silva’s work in South Africa during the early 1990′s. There are some pretty graphic photos in there so if your not into seeing dead bodies I wouldn’t watch it. Click the screen shot below to see the vid.

Backwash

No waves today so to keep the site looking nice and fresh here is a shot I took last year at Currumbin Backwash. Shot without a housing just standing on the rocks, I didn’t really expect this set to be as big as it was and it gave me a bit of a drenching ha-ha! oh well made for a kinda cool shot I think…

Good waves again today

Once again we had some pretty sick waves today. Got some good stuff of Josh Kerr and Asha Pacey again so pretty stoked on that and looks like tomorrow could be good as long as the wind is nice to us!…enjoy!
