I wasn’t 100% sure on what I would write about myself so I decided that I would get the people I work for to write something for me, read on…

Alex Ormerod has been one of Riptide’s loyal contributing photographers for a little over four years now and in that time his photography has progressed to no end. His passion for capturing the moment is second to none, as is his constant desire for self-improvement. He’s equally comfortable shooting in the water, on land and in the studio, and his images have garnered him numerous posters, double page spreads and even the cover of Riptide’s coveted Photo Annual (2007 edition). Having done an 18-month traineeship at Riptide, he also has an in depth knowledge of magazines and how they come together, and this experience is reflected in the professional manner in which he continues to contribute. Doubtless, he’s a positive young man with a bright future ahead of him.

Alex is from the new breed of photographer, wired for the digital age and a new wave of print publication’s that insist on art-fag angles and pretentious portrait work. His manner is professional but not boring, blessed with the unique ability to say ‘tits’ and ‘invoice’ in the same breath. With his current studies in photography and a family embedded in the art of chasing caverns you can be sure Alex Ormerod will be mis-spelt on many image credits to come.
